5 top tips for good essay writing

Essay writing is not something that comes easily to some of us, yet it is a skill that most of us will need to use at some point in our lives.
Scrawling hundreds of hand-written drafts is fortunately no longer necessary thanks to modern day word processing software, such as Microsoft Office. Writers can now cut and paste, delete and re-write words, sentences and even whole paragraphs as many times as they like.
Yet even if typing the essay out has become much easier, the actual composition is still as difficult as ever. In order to write a first class essay, you’ll need to remember the following top tips:
1) Make sure your essay has a clear beginning, middle and end. There is nothing worse than a piece of work that tails off in the middle, or one that has no real introduction or conclusion.
2) Run a spell check before you print the final version – it’s easy to make typos but they can ruin a decent essay by making it look sloppy.
3) Separate your ideas into paragraphs because it will make your work easier to read.
4) Don’t make your sentences too long. People will find your work tedious and hard to read if they keep getting lost in the middle of multiple clauses and sub-clauses.
5) And finally, come up with a catchy title that will attract people’s attention and encourage them to read your essay.
Good luck with your essay writing!
